A more immediate problem for Poilievre is Ontario Premier Doug Ford, a Conservative premier, who is a big fan of Liberal Prime Minister Mark Carney and who is now publicly encouraging Poilievre to “put partisan stripes aside” and “work with the prime minister” on nation-building projects in the face of Trump’s damaging tariffs against Canada.
